Current Work:


Update 2021: A PhD position is available in the area of impact resistant design of concrete materials and structures. The work involves computational and experimental work. The student should have strong analytical background in structural dynamics and finite element methods, and inclination towards experimental work. Familiarity with finite element packages (e.g., LS-DYNA, ANSYS) is desirable.
Position is to be filled during the upcoming PhD admissions at IIT Bombay in June 2021.
Minimum qualification: M.Tech./M.E. in Structural Engineering

Our work on influence on fluid-structure-interaction (FSI) on blast response of SDOF systems has been published to ASCE Journal of Structural Engineering. This paper proposes a new model and provides methodology to include FSI in simplified methods of analysis. link.
We have published a paper assessing effect of damping modeling decision on in-structure response of base-isolated structures, especially relevant to nuclear structures. The strategies proposed so far focuses on addressing issues with moment frame structures. These damping solutions don't work for non-frame type structures and for acceleration response. This papers addresses those issues. link.
